Born to Survive
Sam’s parents divorced when he was a toddler. His mother, uncle and grandparents raised him in the small town of Spring Valley, Illinois. He joined the Navy toward the end of World War II, graduated from Northwestern University and DePaul University School of Law. Sam practiced law and became a serial entrepreneur engaged in a variety of businesses, a car dealership, a bar, and numerous real estate projects. George was an active Philanthropist, particularly in the Jewish community.
