Mickey lost his mother at a young age. His father worked as a laborer in the garment industry in Boston and they somehow scraped by. Mickey graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Engineering and went to work for Carrier Corporation before starting his own successful HVAC business. He branched out into real estate, focusing on shopping centers and was an active philanthropist.
